In 2024, alongside the iPhone 16 series, Apple plans to launch a range of new products, including the redesigned Mac Mini. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this new desktop will be the most compact Mac Mini ever, showcasing a major design shift from its predecessors.

The new Mac Mini is expected to be significantly smaller, with a form factor similar to that of an Apple TV streaming device, which measures about 3.7 inches across. This represents a bold move by Apple to create a desktop computer that is both more compact and more powerful.

Additionally, this will be the first time Apple uses the same generation of chips across all its Mac models. The new M4 chip, which is optimized for AI tasks, is set to debut in October 2024.

2024 Mac Mini: A Compact Powerhouse

The 2024 Mac Mini will be powered by the M4 chip, focusing on delivering high performance in a smaller package. Despite its reduced size, the new Mac Mini will be slightly taller than the current model, which stands at 1.4 inches. It will feature a sleek aluminum design, and according to reports, it will function much like an iPad Pro in desktop form, benefiting from the efficiency of Apple’s custom silicon.

While the current Mac Mini is priced at $599, it’s still unclear whether the new model will be offered at a lower price or maintain the existing pricing, even though it might be cheaper to produce.

Upcoming Mac Releases

Apple has an exciting lineup of new Mac products scheduled for release over the coming months. The updated Mac Mini will be followed by the launch of M4-powered iMacs and MacBook Pros later this year, with new MacBook Air models expected in the spring. Additionally, Apple plans to release revamped Mac Pro and Mac Studio models in mid-2025, continuing its hardware refresh cycle.

The news of the new Mac Mini has sparked excitement among Apple enthusiasts, particularly in markets like India, where Apple products are often seen as premium offerings. It remains to be seen if Apple will adjust its pricing strategy for the new Mac Mini. The release of this compact desktop might coincide with the launch of the iPhone 16 series and iOS 18.

Recently, Apple also launched the MacBook Air M3 in India, priced at ₹1,14,900, further expanding its presence in the Indian market.
